Thesaurus Idée Fixe - Throwback Blog
I am determined to start writing again. I did promise a new post, however, it still needs editing. My summer break is almost over and I've been busy prepping to teach and direct in the Fall. Crunch time has officially started.
I received a call today about the possibility of doing an independent project. I don't have all the details, yet----but I will write about it soon. Felt good to get the call. I feel like it's time to get my jooosh! back. tahaha!;-)
I decided to post a "throwback" blog from 2012 below. It seems like eons ago when I wrote the Thesaurus Idée Fixe blog. It was a rather interesting time in my life.... I feel like such a different person, now. I hardly recognize myself in the writing. What a Difference A Day Makes.... a couple of months, and a few years---- #growth. Anyhoo, enjoy one of my favorite songs as you read: https://youtu.be/lJ2ALjZDF2M
Thesaurus Idée Fixe - July 8th, 2012
In the past few months, I have written a 265-page novel and two 90-page screenplays. I have, also, re-written an actor's one-woman show. I'm so...woe out:-) Currently, my editor and I are in the process of editing the novel. It's almost ready to publish. If I stop oppugning with my editor about the placement of commas, it would probably be published quicker---or is it faster? The intense writing schedule has resuscitated my thesaurus idée fixe. I love words! Anyway, I've been trying to complete a book for years, but never wrote past twenty pages....until this year. And, I haven't written a full-length screenplay since graduate school, waaaay back in 2000. So, to be goaded into writing so much in such a short---or is it small?---period of time is an incredible accomplishment. I really thank God for giving me the grace to do it. I'm, also, thankful for my editor, Brian Cline.
I have taken a few days off to indulge in an invigorating state of otiosity. I feel really refreshed. Since writing doesn't feel so torturous today, I decided to post something on the blog. I can see light at the end of my seven-month writing tunnel, and just the thought of a stage and some lights makes me want to whip my hair back and forth...and I have a head full it, right now:-) Writing is so solitary and sedentary. I've finally accepted that the dryer is not making my True Religions snug. The cookies and creme at my office (Starbucks) are!<-----Soooo faux faBo:-( Ugh! I'm really ready to do something physically creative. Directing, acting, something----. Once I'm completely out of hibernation, I'm hoping to produce a Broadway-style stage production. Big lights, a live orchestra, crazy costumes, the works! I love grandeur! Let us pray for provision. Amen? ;-) A 40-page sample of my novel will be going up soon! It is the companion novel to the upcoming film, A Measure of Faith.
